I Love The Word FREE!

Why would someone discard this....it's a beauty! When I found this stool, it had two missing casters....instead of trying to replace the others...I decided to remove them and do away with a rolling stool. Being stationary at my age is probably a good idea...I would hate for Mr.CC to find me all spread out on the bathroom floor!  So with that said...here is my FREE stool just waiting for me to sit  for a spell and make myself beautimus! My friend Linda is having her first JUNKIN FINDS PARTY today, so please join me and all the other junkin gals over at her place for a good time! I'm also going to join some other THRIFTY gals...so check out these parties too.

Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays No.35

It's hard to believe that it has 35 weeks since my first NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS PARTY...boy time sure does fly! Each week I'm amazed at how many wonderful treasures are found at garage sales and thrift stores for only pennies, people who have not gone THRIFTIN' just don't know what they are missing out on. Also each week I see lots of THRIFTY ideas on how to decorate your home...I know I have been inspired by many of your projects and some I have even incorporated in my own home. I would like to say THANK YOU for coming each week and sharing with all of us...if you have not been visiting with my other guests in the past, then this week give it a try...I think you will be inspired too! Here are a few of the things that caught my eye from last week...click on the pics to read all about them.
                                                     Hope y'all come back...real soon,

Please Join Me

I thought I would share with you a project that my family took part in last year...it's called OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD. The four of us loved putting our boxes together and I know you will too. I started saving some shoe boxes months ago, so I would be ready to go when the time came around and now it's that time to fill them up! You can go here to check out the info on how your family can take part in this wonderful project. I bought most of my items from the clearance racks at Target and also at the dollar section. Here is my post from last year...I hope it will give you some ideas on what you can fill your boxes up with, if you decide to take part in OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD.

This year I wanted my family to do something for children in need...my Mother has been taking part in Operation Christmas Child at her church for the past couple of years...I checked the project out and it was just what I was looking and praying for. The project is part of Samaritan's Purse...founder is Franklin Graham. This is what you do...get a shoe box...pick the sex and age of your child...pray for your child...go shopping and buy items that you feel they would need and also FUN items (remember this is a child). My daughter Haley and I went shopping for our four children and came home with more stuff than we could fit into the boxes! I can say this was by far the best shopping day that I have ever had. We filled our boxes...sent a photo Christmas card of our family with a note to the child...and off they went!!! Next year we plan on doing this again...this time we will be filling up two boxes each. Please check this project out if you are looking for a way to help children hear the word of God...Merry Christmas!

Just A Little Bragging...Please Excuse Me

I just can't help myself when it comes to AUBURN football...sometimes I find myself bragging...so please excuse me...I'm just soooooo excited!!! If you don't follow college football, then you probably don't know or really don't care, but we beat #12 ARKANSAS yesterday 65-43 and I was there. Just let me tell you...it was one exciting game...how can a game with 108 points scored not be exciting? No other SEC team has scored 65 points against another SEC team (this does not include overtime )before this game...so being there to see this happen...is just way cool for this fan! We were #7 before the game and now we are #5 in the AP poll...just can't wait to see where we will be in the BCS poll. At Auburn we have a tradition that after a WIN we roll (using toilet tissue) a corner of our campus...it's called Toomers Corner. I know this sounds a little crazy, but it's a lot of FUN and last night the four of us were there to enjoy this tradition. Next Saturday we play LSU at home...both teams are undefeated (7-0)...so this should be one more exciting game and guess what? I will be there to cheer on the AUBURN TIGERS and hope we come out with another WIN!

I'm sure Bo Jackson enjoyed the game too!!!

Fall Touches

Today I thought I would share with you some more fall touches from my home...here we will see what I did with my OLD wooden dough bowl. I have owned this bowl for years now and I'm still in love with it...is that weird? It just seems to fit in, no matter where I put it...it's present home is my oversize ottoman in the family room.  I have used this bowl at our beach house for several years...displaying it above the kitchen cabinets...so after we sold that house...it has been here in this house moving from room to room. Do you have a favorite decor accessory and if so...why do you like it so much?

Bye Bye Yellow

Over 25 years of marriage Mr.CC and I have painted so many rooms that I have lost count. Actually we have friends and family that tease us about changing room colors so often, but for some reason our dining room has not changed colors for way too many years...I guess we have just over looked this room, but that will end this week...BYE BYE YELLOW! I'm going with a neutral color...Sherwin Williams...Antique White...I sure hope I will like it. With all the dark antique furniture in the room and the new hardwood floors I wanted a light color on the walls. I will be using my WHITE ironstone collection for the walls and installing new silk drapes...ahhhh I just get soooo excited just thinking about it...so I better go and get those YELLOW walls all covered up!

Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays No.33

This week at NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS I will be sharing with you what I did over the weekend...I had a GARAGE SALE! I sooooo needed to get some unwanted items out of this house and I did just that. My mom told me about the neighborhood sale that they were having in her neighborhood and since Mr.CC and I were not going out of town to watch our AUBURN TIGERS play football, then we loaded this stuff up and headed over to her house. I was very happy to get this stuff gone from my home and I'll be honest...the best part was spending two days with my sweet MOM! We had so much fun talking and laughing...I cherish every minute that I spend with her, because I do realize how lucky I am to still have her in my life...she is 82 and still in good health...that is such a blessing to me. It always seems like every time that we have a garage sale together, the two of us shop each others stuff and come home with a least one item. This time I came home with three items...look and see what I found!
As you know...I love anything ORANGE...so this cute little beaded candle holder came home with me!

I will be adding these two milk glass vases to my collection...they will always be SPECIAL because they have my mothers name on the bottom of them...thank you MOM!
Here we are posing for a pic on MOTHERS DAY 2010!

Shopping at CSN Stores

If you have been around blogland for any length of time, then you have seen some generous CSN Stores giveaways...I even had one a few months ago. Recently they contacted me and offered to send me a product of my choice to review...what will I choose?

With over 200+stores to shop from the selection is HUGE! Maybe I will choose something for my family room to go with my new wood floors...like a new area rug, lamp or how about a new console table? They have an amazing selection to choose from...here are a few of my favorites...take a look and let me know what you think.

Okay...now let's here which one of these beautiful console tables did you pick for me!
